Bahamas Carnival 2023 – The Fete Lives On

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Fete lives on in Nassau, Bahamas May 18 to 21 as Bahamas Carnival returns for an amazing weekend of non-stop vibes, concerts and fetes.
Thousands of locals and visitors are expected to get a full and true carnival experience against the most beautiful backdrop imaginable. Bahamas Carnival 2023 kicks off May 18 with a fete to remember, followed by a number of others promising to bring the vibes carnival lovers have been missing for the past three years.

Costume packages for the road have already gone on sale as Mas bands have begun releasing packages for revelers eager to back to the endless vibes only a Bahamas Carnival can bring. The road march is scheduled for Saturday, May 20.

“We are now seeing the evolution of Bahamas Carnival,” Rafael Dean, President of the Bahamas Carnival Band Owners Association said. “If you look at the costumes, they have changed since the first Bahamas Carnival and have gotten better. Our bands have learned and continue to learn as we all work to create the best carnival experience one can have. Let’s not forget we have perhaps the most beautiful backdrop one can ask for in a carnival destination. I think by now we have proven that Bahamas Carnival bands are ready and Bahamas Carnival is here to stay.”

Reggae Icon and Grammy Award Winner Buju Banton, soca legend Machel Montano and Road March winner Bunji Garlin are scheduled to headline two nights of epic concert experiences, bound to bring together the best of both worlds of reggae and soca. They will be joined by a host of other soca artists international and local.

Bahamian music artists will have a chance to win the opportunity of a lifetime by entering the Rising Stars competition, aimed at finding the next big thing. Among other fantastic prizes, the winner will get the opportunity of a lifetime to create a song with an international recording artist. The winner will be crowned on Saturday, May 13 during a live event.

“We are more than elated to bring this exclusive Carnival experience back to the people and the shores of The Bahamas,” according to Sebas Bastian, Spokesman for Polantra Media. “From May 19th-21st, we want you to enter the epic world of Road March Winner Bunji Garlin, along with other icons including Machel Montano, Buju Banton and many other special guests for an extreme soca and dancehall session at Clifford Park. We plan for this show to take the audience on a far-out flight around the Caribbean and back.”

Bands are not to be left out as Bahamas Carnival 2023 will see the first ever Band Competition, showcasing true Bahamian culture and talent to the world. During Bahamas Carnival weekend Bahamian artisans, vendors, talent will have countless opportunities to take part.
